what is FOV

what is FOV?

Introduction
FOV stands for Field of View. As shown in the figure below, according to the imaging principle of the camera, the imaging width of each camera is fixed. For different distances, the value of the field of view q is different. The corresponding relationship is as follows: the longer the focal length, the smaller the field of view; the shorter the focal length, the larger the field of view. As for the field of view, the longer the focal length, the farther the field of view; the shorter the focal length, the shorter the field of view.

HFOV&VFOV&DFOV
HFOV_-Horizontal Field of View, the angle between 2 and 3 in the figure below
VFOV_-Vertical Field of View, the angle between 1 and 2 in the figure below
DFOV — Diagonal Field of View, the angle between 1 and 3 in the figure below

what is FOV

It can be clearly seen from the above figure that the determining factors of the horizontal field of view are the focal length and the width of the imaging area; the determining factors of the vertical field of view are the focal length and the height of the imaging area; the determining factors of the diagonal field of view are the focal length and the width and height of the imaging area. Assuming that the width of the imaging area is W, the height is H, and the focal length is f, then the above angle calculation is as follows
